A West Michigan based psych-rock with soul trio that blends alternative, roots, and garage influences, boasting original songwriting ranging from sweet and soulful to driving and dirty, punctuated with moments of ethereal respite in between. Crooked Spires makes a strong case for stylistic whiplash with evocative lyrical narratives and biting guitar hooks.  

Formed in 2017 as the brain child of Christian Nikkel and Thomas Vandervelden the group quickly developed local following writing original tunes and putting on captivating performances and playing alongside great local acts. 

Adding permanent bassist Jude Lolley in 2019 the band continues to grow and strive for excellence amid the aftermath of a slew of the best cancelled shows of their career due to Covid (one show through Audiotree Presents) and is nearly finished writing the second album due for release sometime in 2022
