Underlined Passages - Neon Inoculation
Big Takeover: Premiere
After nearly four years away, Underlined Passages is releasing their new record, Neon Inoculation. The record was engineered and recorded by Frank Marchand at Waterford Digital (Sugar, The Thermals) and mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side Music (The Promise Ring, Sufjan Stevens, Animal Collective).
The Big Takeover writes that “The record is a keyboard-infused, shoegazey, pandemic-fueled reflection on what many went through and still feel today. The songs call to mind late-‘90s/early-‘oughts indie pop à la Nada Surf and Sunny Day Real Estate. However, music connoisseurs might also detect notes of late-‘80s sophisti-pop/synth-pop and indie-pop reminiscent of Johnny Hates Jazz, Level 42, the Style Council and the Ocean Blue….Neon Inoculation…is a breezy, easygoing affair, one that offers warm comfort to music lovers struggling through the pandemic.”
The release of Neon Inoculation is, in many ways, a personal and professional triumph for the duo from Baltimore. (read full bio on download page)
