Pop rock artist Penny Bored will release their new EP I’m Bored, via Open Your Ears Records on 9/13. The EP – Penny Bored’s second, and first since signing to Open Your Ears Records – features recent singles “On Hold”, “Gossip”, and “Dance In Hell”. Fans can purchase new merch items – including a tote bag and t-shirt– now via Open Your Ears Records.

“I’m Bored! is all about navigating your 20s,” shares Penny Bored songwriter Faith Alesia. “We experience heartbreak, navigate friendships, gossip, and even learn to own up to our own mistakes. This collection of songs breaks down my journey of entering a new phase of adulthood and learning to make the most of it, even if I have to be a little delusional some days to get through it.” About new single “On Hold”, they add: “You know when you can feel a relationship coming to an end, but no one wants to be the first to say anything about it? ‘On Hold’ is all about when a relationship begins to fizzle out, but you’re left in limbo.”

Penny Bored will be celebrating the release of I’m Bored! at their upcoming EP release party, taking place October 18 at Zounds Sounds B-Side in Dallas. The pop-up event will feature art exhibits, photo ops, games, and more, including a special performance featuring reimagined songs from the EP.

Through honest lyrics about mental health and personal struggles, Penny Bored, the solo project of Faith Alesia (they/them), combines catchy melodies with relatable topics to create an authentic discography. Inspired by early 2000’s pop rock, Alesia uses nostalgic sounds to establish a safe space for listeners to connect and know they aren’t alone. Alesia reignited their passion for music during the summer of 2020 and continues to promote the message that it’s never too late to follow your dreams.
