Kill Lincoln - No Normal

Bad Time

“One of the most vital bands right now not just in ska-punk but in DIY music in general” – Andrew Sacher, BroklynVegan

Washington DC Ska Punks KILL LINCOLN are set to release their long awaited 4th studio album NO NORMAL on September 27th, 2024 on Bad Time Records.  The album was recorded in March 2024 at District Recording in San Jose, CA by Ryan Perras, at the same location and exactly 4 years from when they recorded their 2020 album “Can’t Complain‘. Starting August 2 the album is available for vinyl and digital pre-order in the US from Bad Time Records, and from Caffeine Bomb Records in Japan.

NO NORMAL contains 11 new tracks that mirror the band’s intense live show; chaotic, explosive, and ultimately a cathartic release of pure ska punk energy.  The album’s first single “I’m Fine (I Lied)” is streaming now, and perfectly sets the table for the rest of the album… shorter, faster, louder, and with an intensely catchy hook that is almost painfully relatable.  If some bands use a new record to step into a new era, ‘No Normal’ is the Kill Lincoln way of launching themselves out of a cannon.

Formed in 2007, Kill Lincoln spent years wading through the underground ska trenches of the late 2000’s and 2010’s before achieving a breakthrough moment with their 2020 album Can’t Complain.  Alongside their label Bad Time Records (formed by Kill Lincoln Singer / Guitarist Mike Sosinski) the band and scene saw a huge boost in popularity alongside the album’s release, launching the band into a world of new opportunities.

Having since completed several headlining US tours, international  support tours with Big D & The Kids Table in the UK and Tokyo Ska Paradise and HEY-SMITH in Japan, as well as national support runs with The Slackers, The Suicide Machines, and Mustard Plug, the band has earned a reputation as one of the best up and coming live ska punk acts in the world. With a focus on crowd participation, fun, and unpredictability, KILL LINCOLN is the perfect intersection of melodic hardcore, third wave style ska punk, and “New Tone” sensibilities.  ‘No Normal’ bottles this energy into a new long awaited LP, leaning on the band’s usual strengths in catchy and relatable hooks combined with powerful horn lines but finally giving weight to each of the band member’s unique skills and personalities… from a vocal feature from Yasutaka Umemoto on the Mike Park penned “Coming or Going”, to the razor sharp bass shredding and guitar soloing of CJ Uy, and even a ‘dance’ feature and bevy of background vocals from hype-man Drew Skibitsky, the album is catchy, powerful, relatable, fun, and explosive.  No filler, no rules, no slowing down, no going back… NO NORMAL.
