This album documents the outset of my recording career, and the formation of my style as both a guitarist and bandleader.

After selling industrial real estate for 6 years in NYC, my relocation to Hong Kong in 1992 jumpstarted a desire to perform again. In March of 1994, I landed two gigs in Hong Kong that were recorded live on my 1st album, “Everything I Love.”

Just a few years later, I was working 6-nights a week leading the Greg Chako Trio at the Bar & Billiard Room of Raffles Hotel in Singapore. I recorded my 3rd album there in 1997, titled The Greg Chako Trio & Friends LIVE at Raffles.

Greg Chako LIVE!, is a compilation of my favorite songs from those two albums. As I listen to the music now, almost 30 years since it was performed, I believe it still sounds fresh and  exciting. I hope it moves you as it does me!
