London-based singer-songwriter Jack Browning will release his sophomore album, Painted Skies, on September 16 via Too Fine Records. The twelve-song collection follows Browning’s signing to the Nashville label earlier this year and arrives after two years of growing momentum on both sides of the Atlantic, including sold-out headline shows in Europe, major festival appearances in the U.S., and praise from Whiskey Riff, Holler, American Songwriter, andBBC Radio 2.

Produced by Browning and Dan Lucas and recorded at The Joplin House in Kent, England, Painted Skies broadens the sound Browning introduced on his 2023 debut, Red Eye Radio. Rooted in country, folk, blues, and rock ‘n’ roll, the album explores life on the road, family, identity, and the experiences that shape a songwriter over time. Throughout, Browning favors honest performances over studio perfection, allowing the songs to retain the immediacy and character of the room in which they were recorded.

That approach is evident from the opening moments of lead single “Speak Your Mind (But Ride A Fast Horse),” which kicks off with an unedited drum count-in before settling into a swaggering southern rock groove. Equal parts defiant and self-aware, the track sets the tone for a record that never shies away from difficult conversations or uncomfortable truths.

Elsewhere, Browning turns inward on “High Hopes,” a reflection on mental health and inherited struggles inspired by an old childhood photograph, while “Muhlenberg County Stars” draws from his first U.S. tour to capture the fleeting moments of connection found between long drives and late-night shows. The title track, co-written with Dutch songwriter Mercy John, closes the album with quiet optimism, reflecting on creative partnership and the willingness to believe in a path without guarantees.

Painted Skies follows a period of rapid growth for Browning. Since the release of Red Eye Radio, he has toured extensively throughout the UK, Europe, and the United States, appearing at festivals including Country2Country, Healing Appalachia, Laurel Cove Music Festival, Black Deer, TakeRoot, Ramblin’ Roots, and Red Rooster, while sharing stages with artists such as Asleep At The Wheel, Corb Lund, Vincent Neil Emerson, JP Harris, and Willi Carlisle.

Outside of music, Browning has also earned recognition as a fine artist. His paintings have been exhibited internationally, including at the Taos Art Museum Summer Gala, sold-out exhibitions in Texas, and Mark Maggiori’s Far West Show, while his artwork has also been commissioned by acclaimed Americana artist The White Buffalo.

With Painted Skies, Browning continues to establish himself as one of the most compelling new voices emerging from the transatlantic Americana scene, bringing together lived experience, sharp songwriting, and a sound that feels both deeply rooted and unmistakably his own.

Painted Skies is available everywhere now via Too Fine Records.
