One of Paste Magazine’s “Top 10 Illinois Bands You Should Listen To Now”, Chicago-based Exit Ghost has been sculpting its energetic brand of country-tinged, lyrical indie rock since the group’s formation in 2010.

From the rooted acoustic creaks of The Pony Soldier EP (2010) to 2011’s lush Hang The Lights EP—a project engineered by Mike Hagler of Wilco’s Summerteeth-- Exit Ghost has proven itself an inspired and insatiable writing vehicle, with a live show hailed by Performer Magazine as “like After The Goldrush on steroids”.

Move Alone, the group’s first full-length album, was released May 2, 2012.

"Fronted by Evan Holmes, this group has garnered a strong local following thanks largely to their bold indie-folk tunes. Fans of Sun Kil Moon or Ryan Adams will enjoy Move Along, which is streaming in its entirety on their Soundcloud page." - Paste

"Exit Ghost have always been good at stretching a note. Their ineffable likability comes not from their ability to craft unique or intricate musical patterns, but to take the ones you've heard a thousand times and imbue them with a very particular glow. Not an easy feat considering the ever-multiplying alt-country scene of the Midwest, but Exit Ghost stomp, romp and jangle all over their debut LP as if no one had ever welded a violin to a Stratocaster. Classical strings and glockenspiels lilt in and out of guitar noise, but they're couched in enough dusty air to avoid the tarnishing archetype of the barnyard rock band--even when frontman Evan Holmes waxes lyrical about the steel silos that stud the Midwestern roadsides." - Windy City Rock
