Mike Borgia

An Italian american singer songwriter, with over a decade as an active professional. Born in New York, Mike spent his childhood playing in venues as a guitarist and backing vocalist in a progressive metal band from the age of 13-16. He then evolved into playing different genres of rock, indie, and punk, and from the mid 90’s to early 2000, he formed a band called Tread, formerly (Samsara, Venear). With growing ambition, Tread were on their way to commercial success, until they decided to call it quits in 2001. From 2001-2010, Mike toured solo throughout the UK, releasing nine studio records. Touring England helped earned him a loyal fan base, and a relatively steady career within that time.
In 2011, The Problems were formed in New York City as a trio, with Nathan McCormack on cello and Brian Bauer on Drums. As a trio, they released a limited edition EP called “live or die, you won’t be lonely” that was packaged as an elaborate magazine, with un published photos from around the world, custom artwork by different artists for each song, lyrics, storyline and more. It is currently sold out, but still available digitally.
In Sept of 2012, Mike Borgia left NY and relocated to Kansas City, MO. Losing no momentum, Borgia released an EP entitled “Goodbye New York” with some of his strongest songs to date, and a fresh new group of players. Please welcome Todd Owen on Drums, James Watkins on Bass, and Ben Eisiminger on Keys, also a former member of Jimmy Van Zant, Tim Alaxander of Primus & Charles Henry of The Blue Man Group.
