Dream Home - Hold On So Tough

Dream Home, the three-piece indie rock band from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania led by singer/songwriter Jaren Love, is back with a follow up to their 2021 self-titled debut LP. Hold On So Tough, Dream Home’s second album, will come out on Mint 400 Records on January 26. Popdose has characterized Love’s previous projects as “clearly schooled in the ways of pop and hooks.” Love is joined again by Joe Praksti, well known for his work as frontman in Pittsburgh based band, Rave Ami and multi-instrumentalist Sam Winward. Hold On So Tough is a follow up to their debut that Pittsburgh Current characterized as “guitar-pop nuggets…(that) perk and pop out of your speakers.” PA Musician called it “sharp and balanced…(with an) emphasis on melodies, production and lyrical depth” and described it as “psychedelic textures that hint at Pet Sounds-era Brian Wilson and Sgt. Pepper-era Beatles, as well as a touch of the Flaming Lips.” Their second album reunites the band with Steven Donahue of Young Legs and again with help from Love’s longtime Lampshades collaborator Dane Adelman. The album is 9 lush songs with a mixture of Wurlitzer driven pop songs and jangly guitar-pop melodies with dreamy mid-fi production. The band looks forward to hitting regional stages in 2024 again for the LP’s release.
