Between Kings - Young Love

Regime

Between Kings are at once a throwback to those times when rock ‘n’ roll music could save your life and a glimpse into its possible future. Formed while attending music college in Brisbane, Australia, the band’s 2018 debut album, The Escape, is aptly titled in that all four members moved from Down Under to Los Angeles to pursue their plan for world domination.

With original tracks recorded Down Under, Between Kings arrived in L.A. to complete the songs under the guidance of eclectic producer Jimmy Messer [AWOLNation, Kygo, Kelly Clarkson, Selena Gomez, Enrique Iglesias], who gave them a radio-ready pop sheen. From the opener, “Antidote,” with its electronic feel, and the chilling piano riff in “Bad For Me,” (courtesy Messer) to the hip-hop rhythms of “Paradise,” a plea for a return to innocence, and the cathartic generational middle-finger of “Too Young to Give a F*ck,” the band has matured into a world-class act in record time.

The band’s writing and production are tied to their ability to play the songs live. After touring Australia with the likes of Escape the Fate, and experiencing solid U.S. radio airplay on their first album (#144 on Billboard’s Top 200 Alternative Radio charts), Between Kings has made the move to the U.S. with the help of the Regime’s veteran artist manager Kevin Zinger.

For a band that started out playing open mic nights in Brisbane before tackling the club circuit, then becoming one of Australia’s top touring attractions, the sky is the limit for Between Kings.
