Wounded Touch - A Vivid Depiction Of Collapse
Smartpunk Records‘ 2000s-inspired heavy-hitters Wounded Touch have announced their new full-length record A Vivid Depiction Of Collapse. The album marks a vital chapter in the band’s growth as an eleven-track saga detailing the eleven stages of grief and acceptance, set to an unrelentingly heavy soundtrack. You’ll find influences from Zao, Hopesfall, and Poison The Well intertwined with their forward-thinking metal instincts to create a vital 2025 release.
Since their inception, the Michigan outfit has used musical guerilla campaign tactics and a resilient DIY work ethic to make their way onto nationwide festivals and a full UK tour while gaining notoriety from metal’s top publications including Metal Hammer, BrooklynVegan, and New Noise Magazine.
Speaking about the new album, Wounded Touch says, “Sometimes you write an album because your band just needs new music to tour on. And sometimes you write one because there are ideas drilling their way into your brain and thoughts eating away at your core when you try to sleep at night and the only place to put it is in a song. Since the last record, several members got married or became fathers, some had career changes due to a shifting global market, and some of us moved to start fresh, and the focus of our writing shifted to the rhythm of a mortal clock ticking away, the need to capture the feelings and fears of the moment for each of us. We gave the world another eleven songs with this second LP because there were some things we needed to expunge from our souls, and some people we needed to immortalize. The five of us tried to write the record each of us needed the most in our formative years, and it yielded ‘A Vivid Depiction of Collapse,’ our eleven stages of grief and acceptance.”
