Wounded Touch - Traumatic Entanglement [EP]
“great example of this band’s ability to breathe new life into late ’90s/early 2000s-style metalcore and mathcore.” – BrooklynVegan
Smartpunk Records‘ metal powerhouses Wounded Touch embrace elements of 2000s metalcore and mathcore in their short but densely-packed, majorly heavy new split EP. The band’s featured tracks include “Submitted For (Dis)Approval” and “In Mouths Wielding Silence.”
The band recorded their tracks with Matt Marquez from Norma Jean and they share the tracklist with fellow metal band FallFiftyFeet.
Since their inception, the Michigan outfit has used musical guerilla campaign tactics and a resilient DIY work ethic to make their way onto nationwide festivals and a full UK tour while gaining notoriety from metal’s top publications including Metal Hammer, Brooklyn Vegan, and New Noise Magazine.
Speaking about the new EP, Wounded Touch says, “We’d been getting anxious in between releases and started writing to pass time and try stuff out, especially with some new pedals and experimental tunings. So we wrote a few tracks and took our friend Matt Marquez from Norma Jean up on an offer to record us at his new studio and we’d been talking for a while with FallFiftyFeet about wanting to do something together, so we decided to do a split with them since they also had two tracks they’d been sitting on. Arif from Wormrot did the artwork which tied it all together and we decided to release it on CD as the physical format after numerous requests for that specific ‘dead format’ while on the road. All this results in the release of ‘Traumatic Entanglement“
