Willoh explores identity, contradiction and self-acceptance on BUCK EP out Oct. 23

Trying to put Willoh in a box is beginning to feel like a fool’s errand.

Across “FASHION,” “MONTRÉAL,” “CU,” and “Omnichord,” the 20-year-old Missouri artist has spent 2026 pulling apart identity, desire, self-discovery, and all the uncertainty that comes with existing somewhere between being a teenager and whatever comes next.

That same restlessness runs through her music.

“FASHION” introduced a sharper, more self-assured Willoh, while “MONTRÉAL” pushed further into the unpredictable sonic world she’s been building. Then came “CU,” floating us through swirls and eddies of self-assurance and intrinsic doubt before spiraling into a glitch-a-riffic breakdown. Most recently, “Omnichord” arrived like a tiny, vocoded transmission from the void, a raw last attempt to cling to the past before it disappears.

Now those different versions of Willoh collide on BUCK, out October 23 via Santa Anna.

It’s an EP about becoming yourself without pretending you’ve got it all figured out. The messy parts, the confident parts, the contradictory parts, and those strange little moments when you look in the mirror and realize the person staring back at you has changed again.

Willoh says:

“BUCK is the most honest I’ve been in my music. BUCK manifests the part of ourselves that we hate and hunts us down until we accept it.”

Willoh’s self-produced 2025 debut, not more than that, but more please displays a raw honesty rendered through snowy vocals that sit in rarefied air, belying the artist’s 19 years. This past fall she released a series of hypnotic singles to critical acclaim.

From her home in Springfield, Missouri, willoh records and creates music, having first found her footing on Garageband before graduating to LogicPro–making the upgrade from her earnings working long shifts at McDonalds.
