Will Orchard - Behind The Shadow Glass

Self-Released

Will Orchard’s upcoming record is titled Behind The Shadow Glass. With a release slated for September 5th, 2025, Behind The Shadow Glass exhibits both quiet hopefulness and haunting melancholy. The track listing spans from energetic indie-rock confessionals full of angst and catharsis (Nothing Fog, Something’s Gotta Go), to disquieted, ambient folk songs that ponder an uncertain future (Moonfall, Late Bloomer). Yet for each moment of unease, the record holds a consistent sense of gentle, surrealistic whimsy, backed by colorful production choices. Seamlessly combining instrumentation ranging from 12 string fingerstyle guitar with 80’s synths and at times thunderous drum parts, the record was fully self-produced and recorded in Orchard’s home studio in Old Hickory, TN. Orchard’s delicate and airy tenor is frequently supported by vocal harmonies by Jess Kerber, with thoughtful & dynamic drum parts by James Goodwin. Fans of Sufjan Stevens, Sparklehorse, and Lomelda will be particularly drawn to the record, and find it reveals a bit more with each listen, with lyrics that hover between hazy, dreamlike collages and disarming honesty.
