Veronica Lewis emerges as a distinct voice in music earning acclaim as “one of the most promising torchbearers of American Rock ‘n Roll,“ by American Songwriter.
At 20 years old, this singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist is already carving a niche for herself as a deeply complex, raw-energy artist. A multi-award-winning, #2 Billboard charting musician from the backwoods of New Hampshire, Veronica merges 90s alt-rock with indie-pop vibe, reflecting a powerfully vulnerable songwriter and musician.
Her sonic odyssey is part of the groundswell of female artists who are redefining the meaning of singer/songwriter in modern pop and rock, citing inspirations such as Soccer Mommy, Julia Jacklin, Snail Mail, Sharon Van Etten, boygenius, Alanis Morrisette, and Fiona Apple.
With her upcoming new album, Too Late For Tears, slated for release on August 16, 2024. Veronica presents a soundtrack that navigates the tumultuous journey of self-discovery, from teenage to adulthood. “This is me growing up and coming to terms with things we all struggle with… disillusionment, self-discovery, the beauty and flaws you find in yourself and the world around you.”
With anthem-evoking choruses, earworm melodies, luscious guitar riffs, and dreamy keys, Too Late For Tears hits with a tumult of elation and melancholy. Together you scream as your hair whips around and you feel the exhilaration of your first joy ride. But unlike most first cars, which inevitably break down stranding you on the roadside, Too Late For Tears promises if you do break down, Veronica will walk you home and help you heal your broken heart along the way.
Veronica tours with a full band, writes all her material, plays piano, guitar, bass, and synths. Exploring the indie bedroom pop scene with her latest material, Veronica also takes on the role of producer on Too Late For Tears, retaining her autonomy, and cultivating authenticity in every aspect of her work.
The title track “ Too Late for Tears” is an indie rock/pop anthem born out of the disillusionment we all face when realizing all is not as it seems. The album’s first single, “Disconnected,” delves into the aftermath of an accidental overdose of a close friend. The Second Single “Unless I Call” set to an infectious, upbeat melody, is about one-sided relationships and the moment you are ready to move on.
In “Against the World”, the third single Veronica redefines the love song with a deeply evocative twist. This track explores a profound love and connection, where emotions transcend traditional boundaries of space and time.
“Broke In 2” is a release of anger, a cathartic anthem against bullying and the empowerment found in forgiveness. “Let Them Go” breaks the cycle of generational family dysfunction, a heartfelt piece dedicated to her mom. “Girl I Used to Know” and “Doesn’t Make It Any Easier” delve into fatalistic moods and the struggle of navigating a world without a clear path. Veronica exposes her soul, offering a collection of songs that speak to the complexities of life, love, and self-discovery. (continue reading full bio on DISCO)
