The Saddest Landscape - Alone With Heaven

Iodine

The Saddest Landscape have been perfecting their balance of frantic hardcore and cathartic vulnerability for over 20 years and return with a double LP on Iodine Recordings in 2026.

Their first new music in a decade, the full length dives fearlessly into themes of survival, grief, the ache that follows, and the fragile hope that keeps us pushing through the dark. These songs exist in the place where the things not said aloud dwell, where memory turns to ash, where love outlives the wreckage.

Recorded with Steve Albini and Jack Shirley, the double LP moves between songs and instrumental passages, shaped by memory, endurance, and hope. Guest appearances from Julien Baker, Jeremy Bolm, and Evan Weiss appear across select tracks.

One of the most enduring voices in modern post-hardcore, The Saddest Landscape have returned after a decade, making sure we’re still alive

The Saddest Landscape are an American post-hardcore band formed in Boston, Massachusetts in 2002. They quickly became known for their passionate, visceral sound and extensive catalog of releases that blend intensity with introspection.

Across more than two decades, the band has released multiple studio albums and a large number of EPs and splits, standing out for their prolific output and DIY ethos. Their early albums include The Sound of the Spectacle (2003) and Lift Your Burdens High for This Is Where We Cross (2004), which established them within the independent heavy music community.

After a period of relative quiet, they returned with You Will Not Survive (2010), followed by After the Lights (2012), and Darkness Forgives (2015), each showcasing the band’s ability to balance raw energy with emotional depth.

Even with members living in different regions, The Saddest Landscape maintained a consistent presence through numerous splits with fellow underground acts and international touring, building a dedicated fanbase and respected reputation within the broader post-hardcore scene.
