The Jacklights - Drift [EP]
“Potentially…one of the top records to come out of Boston in 2021.” – Dig Boston
“Drawing inspiration from ’80s and ’90s punk bands with pop sensibilities, the band embrace a punk sound, though they also enjoy flirting with other genres.” – New Noise Magazine
“Early Go Go’s meets Tsunami Bomb with just a hint of Descendents going on too…fans of all these bands should be happy to embrace this sound.” – The Punk Site
[Eat the Young] is a really great fun punk song by a still brand-new artist we can’t wait to watch grow for a long time.” – If It’s Too Loud
Boston-based trio The Jacklights play hook-driven melodic punk with thoughtful lyrics and an alt rock influence. With 90s-style distorted guitar, poppy vocals, punchy basslines, and hard-hitting energetic drums, it’s a throwback sound that still sounds fresh and new.
The Jacklights are Nilagia McCoy (guitar, vocals), Mike Allen (bass), and Steve Patton (drums). Launched in January 2020, the band released their self-titled debut EP in October of the same year, followed by the single “Winter” in 2021, garnering local media attention.
