The Boojums - The Boojums
The Boojums debut album is in stores now via Having Fun Records
Following the release of three well-received lead album singles, The Boojums self-titled debut album is in stores today.
The Boojums debut album was self-recorded in the band’s home studio in Port Hawkesbury, Nova Scotia in May and June 2026 and mixed by Darren Lawson (Foals, Bloc Party, Spiritualized). The album captures both the rawness and catchiness of The Boojums live show.
The album thematically explores love, friendship, and personal growth distilled through anthematic guitar, vocals, and driving percussion. The band’s genuine, if not earnest approach, as viewed through a growing number of DIY music videos has captured the attention of audiences worldwide as noted in the thousands of comments each video has received.
The Boojums will celebrate their album release with a quick tour through Ontario. They will return to Europe in the spring of 2026. More North American dates are also expected.
Formed in late 2024 and known for uploading fuzzed-out live VHS tapes to Reddit, Instagram and YouTube, The Boojums have quickly built a reputation for their refreshingly raw and unfiltered sound—equal parts nostalgic and forward-looking. Recorded live off the floor, their debut album channels themes of small-town escape, personal reckoning, and full-throttle freedom.
The Boojums are:
Willie Stratton – guitar/vocals
Sara Johnston – bass/vocals
Patrick Murphy – drums/vocals
With parent label We Are Busy Bodies celebrating over 20 years of operation in 2025 and building a reputation for a genre-agnostic ethos, new imprint Having Fun Records narrows the focus to rock, pop, indie rock, and overlapping sub-genres, continuing its commitment to discovering and championing new (and old) interesting music.
