Scumming - Some Kind of Cap Swallower [EP]

Scumming is yet another offshoot recording sideproject from Biff Swenson (Yawn Mower, Grasser, Dana Why). With the help of Rudy Meier (Wetbrain, Bristler, Tide Bends) they’ve crafted a love letter to the midwest emo scene of their youth. Paying homage to fourth wave emo titans Algernon Cadwallader and Snowing, this 3 song EP feels like they copied someone’s answers in math class but forgot to change their name at the top of the page. This twinkle-daddy noodle-punk worship clocks in at 4:20 combined, so no reason to skip a second of the action.

These 2, along with their Yawn Mower bandmates, are on a year and a half long stretch of dropping nearly a dozen releases between all of their projects. This Scumming EP is the first on the list, followed by Mike Chick’s third solo record in February, sophomore albums from Grasser, Dany Why, and Yawn Mower, along with 2 EPs from Bristler just to name a few. Their collective has been producing at an alarming rate with no signs of slowing down.
