Roman Patterns - Somewhere on the Highway

Roman Patterns is the partnership of singer-songwriter Michael Fickes and prolific producer Shaky. Formed in 2024, the Pennsylvania based act emerged with the Darts EP – a raw collection of garage rock riffs, memorable pop hooks, and confessional lyrics. Bolstered by lead single, “Tangiers” the Darts EP garnered an international audience and radio play.

Roman Patterns returns in 2025 with their debut full length, Somewhere on the Highway. Recorded and released by Shaky Records, the album marks a sonic revisiting of Fickes’ early music career. Spanning genres from alternative and hard rock to alt-country, the album references the touchpoint musical styles of the late 90s and early 2000s. With an expanded palette and a new cast of collaborators, Roman Patterns evolves while maintaining their signature affinity for gripping lyrics, heavy riffs, and anthemic choruses. Lead by singles, “Modern Man” and “Daylight Saloon,” Somewhere on the Highway is poised to take Roman Patterns to new heights.
