Poggy - Sister
The Big Takeover: Premiere
Hailing from the idyllic coastal town of Deal in Kent, Poggy embodies the essence of a musical spirit untamed by the hustle and bustle of modern life. Raised in a lively household of six, the heartbeat of her formative years was the sweet sound of music. Poggy and her four sisters, united by playful harmonies and heartfelt melodies, laid the foundation for her remarkable journey in the world of music. With a voice that resonates like an elemental force, Poggy’s artistry weaves together jazz, world, and folk influences, taking listeners on a mesmerizing sonic voyage. Her compositions draw inspiration from the natural world and the mysteries of existence, entwining haunting melodies with poignant narratives that touch the depths of the soul. In a world that often rushes past the beauty of nature and the simplicity of life, Poggy’s music stands as a profound reminder to pause, listen, and embrace the primal elements that beckon us back to the wild.
Poggy’s musical odyssey began with her debut album, Woman, released under the NJ label Mint 400 Records in 2021. Collaborating with the talented Richard Bundy, known for his work with artists like Sugababes and Marlon Roudette, Poggy’s debut celebrated the bonds of family and interconnectedness. This harmonious masterpiece, comprised of 11 tracks, intertwined folk, jazz, and Northern Soul influences to encapsulate Poggy’s journey through the raw beauty of life’s elements. Her evolution continued with the No More I EP, a three-song collection that painted an auditory tapestry of an ancient forest, echoing with distant voices and a yearning for reconnection with Mother Nature. Once again, Poggy’s compositions seamlessly merged jazz, world, and folk elements, creating an immersive sonic experience that transcends the boundaries of freedom and limitation on her newest album Sister.
