Pimmer - Trans Am [EP]

Mint 400

TRANS AM will be Pimmer’s third release in the 18 months since the band formed in 2024. The new seven-track EP arrives on the heels of I Wish I Could Care, last year’s LP that earned widespread praise for its urgency, uncanny melodic structures, and emotional weight. Rather than a departure, TRANS AM functions as both a continuation and an expansion—pushing further into the band’s distinctly menacing, noisy strain of indie rock.

Across its compact runtime, TRANS AM touches on many of the genre’s defining hallmarks: measured dissonance and darkness, tightly wound song brevity, and intricately layered guitars often employing alternate tunings. Driving, lock-step rhythms propel the songs forward, while dense sonic textures and lyrical hooks keep the listener on yellow-alert and slightly off-balance. Despite any heightened aggression, melody remains central—surfacing in unexpected ways and lingering long after the songs end.

More immediate and volatile than its predecessor, TRANS AM captures Pimmer in real-time motion—confident, restless, and unconcerned with easy resolution. The EP distills the band’s core instincts into a focused burst of sound, reinforcing their growing reputation while hinting at even more ambitious territory ahead.
