Mister Tom - They Can't All Be Winners

Mint 400

BloodMakesNoise: Premiere

Check out the latest album from Mister Tom, They Can’t All Be Winners.  His third release is stripped down indie folk full of acoustic guitar and fiddle.

Mister Tom, also known as Thomas Hanslowe, is a multi-instrumentalist singer/songwriter currently living in Los Angeles. He grew up in New Jersey where he played with such Mint 400 Records bands as the Ashes and the Old Glorys. Hanslowe along with his brother were integral parts of solo musician and comic book creator Shane-Michael Vidaurri’s backing band through 3 solo albums as well. Finally in 2017 Hanslowe broke out with his own release, the first Mister Tom record, which is a folk infused indie rock album in the vein of Jay Reatard and Mike Krol if they were more Americana. His second record ‘Smell My Feet’, a Halloween themed album dropped in 2019 and finally he is back with his first post pandemic release. In addition to writing and recording music, Mister Tom is also currently finishing up a graduate program in musicology at UCLA.

The album was recorded in a makeshift studio in Joshua Tree with some help from Alan Rigoletto. The songs were written over the course of several years after a cross country move and cover a range of topics ranging from the end of the world to falling asleep on the bus.
