Merry Cherry Bomb - Spring [EP]
Merry Cherry Bomb, the brainchild of multi-instrumentalist and singer Allie Gardner, is unveiling the Spring EP on January 17th, the first in a series of four season-themed releases. Known for her blend of bedroom pop, baroque pop, and Motown influences, Gardner delivers dreamy, 70s-inspired instrumentals layered with powerful vocals. After her previous band, Buddy Love Goes Coconuts, dissolved, Gardner took the reins of her music, recording everything herself for full creative control. The project’s playful name reflects Gardner’s lively personality and love for all things cherry-flavored.
Inspired by artists like The Beatles, Motown greats, and punk acts like Wavves and Bikini Kill, Gardner’s process involves building tracks layer by layer, often starting with drum tracks from her brother Ryan. While Merry Cherry Bomb has primarily been a solo endeavor, Gardner, with the backing of Mint 400 Records, plans to assemble a touring band, signaling a new chapter. As the Spring EP sets the tone for this ambitious project, fans can anticipate a vibrant exploration of sound throughout the year.
