Lija Fonner - Small Talk

Small Talk is the second full length album from Lija Fonner & the Flower Power. It has 10 songs that were recorded and mixed on an 8-track recorder at Casa de Lo-fi (music studio owned by the band’s bass player Bobby T. Lewis). Flower Power recorded the entire album in just one day-long session on a Saturday in April of 2023. Lija and Bobby spent the next few weeks mixing the songs and then sent it off to Chris Hanszek who mastered them in his studio north of Seattle, Washington.

These songs were written within the span of a year and tell stories of heartbreak, self- discovery and curiosity. You’ll hear the perspective of a writer who is fascinated by the glamour of old Hollywood, but not the ideals. Don’t be fooled by the sparkly presentation of these 1960s girl-group and Americana inspired tunes. They’ve got a bite to them that reminds you it’s a strength to keep an open heart in a world that can be cruel.
