Lena Fjortoft - Strange Light
Brooklyn Songwriter Lena Fjortoft (Lee-nuh Fyur-tawft) Releases Debut Album “Strange Light”
The nine-song album explores themes of lust, heartbreak, and meditates on feelings of acceptance and nostalgia.
Available now on all major streaming platforms, “Strange Light” combines melodic earworms with poignant and immersive lyrics.
Produced by Chris Bordeaux, David Theisen, and Lena Fjortoft, the album represents a fresh creative direction for Fjortoft, bringing together classic influences, such as Fleetwood Mac and Emmylou Harris, while introducing her own authentic storytelling and sound.
‘“Strange Light” is about the uncertainty of love potential, while holding on to the pain of the past.” Says Lena, “The first half of the album examines desire and loss, in all their elation and despair. The latter half of the album pontificates on the warmth of being seen in “Parties” and the torment of being unaccepted in “Alien in a Cardigan. Both isolation and community ultimately serve a higher enlightenment and joy.”
Lena has been performing in the New York area and has played several small tours throughout the United States. The Album debuted with a release show at Union Pool, and Lena is heading out of town in June to play several East Coast cities, culminating in a final stop in Chicago at the Empty Bottle on June 25th.
