Fake Pockets - Reverie [EP]

Mint 400

Fake Pockets is an indie rock band from Asbury Park NJ composed of vocalist, songwriter, and rhythm guitarist Devon Alana; lead guitarist Cara Introcaso; bassist Bill Lambusta; and drummer Jake Resnick.

Blending elements of power pop and 90s alternative, the group creates songs that they have lovingly termed “bummer bops” – songs that are uniquely nostalgic, with upbeat melodies juxtaposed by Alana’s earnest, lovesick songwriting. Their sophomore EP Reverie explores the universal themes of sunk costs, intrusive thoughts, and the anxiety that comes with spinning your wheels while seemingly getting nowhere.

Reviews of prior releases offer praise for Alana’s “signature vocals and jangly folk guitar work” (CoolDad Music) and “Pretenders-meets-10,000 Maniacs-like musicianship and songwriting” (Makin Waves), and Reverie promises to be no different.

Since their inception in 2018, the group has hit the ground running, playing many notable local Jersey venues such as Starland Ballroom and The Stone Pony, and opening for acts like Ben Folds and The Violent Femmes in the process.

“If you like pop with a sharp, clever edge that’s as musical as it cool, Fake Pockets are your jam” (Makin Waves)
