Fairmont - Recluse Jamboree

Mint 400

Fairmont is indie rock we should all be thankful for” – Amp Magazine

“imaginative turns, emotive lifts, and a folksy rock basting relatable to Modest Mouse.” – Susan Frances | AbsolutePunk.net

Neil is a one man music industry. With his band Fairmont he takes all the passion he puts into the Mint 400 Records empire and blasts away on music that swallows and channels over 60 years of rock n roll; everything from Beatles 65 to the Front Bottoms S/T. Fairmont we salute you!” – Glenn Morrow | Bar-None Records

“The two words that come to mind about Fairmont are persistence and evolution.  The band has continued to change and grow despite whatever setbacks, personnel changes, or worldwide pandemics get thrown its way, and I’m always looking forward to hearing what comes next”. – Jim Testa | JerseyBeat & The Star Ledger

“they always find a way to equally invoke the big production and hooks of The Shins and Nada Surf as much the sound of early 60’s Beatles and Kinks recordings, and the end result is always songs that feel timeless.” – AJ Tobey | Bankrobbermusic, Rough Trade Publishing, Trash Casual Records

The North New Jersey Indie Rock band Fairmont is undeniably tenacious, led by Neil Sabatino (lead guitar & vocals) and his bandmate of the past 15 years, Christian Kisala (keyboards & drums), during their two-decade existence. Since their formation in 2001, the band has released twelve full-length albums, along with a handful of EPs and compilation tracks that cover everything from Nirvana and The Beach Boys to the BeeGees and Link Wray. Their past albums have charted with CMJ & NACC multiple times, while their last album ‘Liminal Spaces’ landed on the NACC charts for 4 consecutive weeks. What sets Fairmont apart is their complete do-it-yourself (DIY) approach to their music career. They not only own their own label, Mint 400 Records, but also handle engineering, mixing, and producing their music out of a basement studio, and they create most of the album art themselves. This level of independence and creativity showcases their dedication and passion for their craft as they have maintained their unique artistic vision throughout their journey in the music industry. On their latest record, ‘Recluse Jamboree‘, they continue to amalgamate all of their experiences into something special.

Fairmont received plenty of help on their latest release, with contributions from group regulars like Matt Cheplic (The Bitter Chills, Splendid Engine), Evan Pope (The Maravines), and Jane Keating (Dharma Plums). Additionally, Fairmont invited labelmate Christina Ward to help out with some chorus harmonies. However, that’s not the only labelmate invited to participate, as Mike Chick of Yawn MowerMai Diaz Langou of SWiiMSRenee MaskinReese Van Riper, and El Valerie all add distinct vocal parts that enhance this epic collection of seven songs clocking in at 27 minutes. Fairmont continues to build their legacy as one of the most interesting bands with longevity that has spanned over 20 years.
