With a new album of her signature short, concise pop tracks, El Valerie takes the listener a step further into her world. Raised in New York City and currently based in Providence, Rhode Island, the 24-year-old singer, artist and multi-instrumentalist draws from a wealth of creative and cultural influences on Tender Ardor.

On the new record, her characteristically lighthearted and upbeat songs take a personal turn to reflect on love and tragedy, which was not planned at the outset of the writing process. But in letting go of all expectations for what the album would become, Tender Ardor coalesced into a sparkling expression of emotion, bolstered by disco-inspired synths and guitar.

Tender Ardor kicks off with a declaration of love over slowly building basslines and guitar progressions. Its first single “Achilles” is accompanied by a colorful stop-motion music video, put together frame by frame by the artist herself. The catchy anthem is just the beginning of El Valerie’s adventurous second album for Mint 400 Records.
