Dad Hats - wash. rinse. repeat.

Dad Hats will release their third full-length album, wash. rinse. repeat., on October 23, 2026, through Mind Over Matter Records. Across 11 tracks, the Nashville five-piece brings together the punch of melodic punk, the emotional pull of emo, and the layered guitars of indie rock, all anchored by the band’s ear for a chorus.

The songs on wash. rinse. repeat. deal with relationships, anxiety, burnout, and the frustrating tendency to keep making the same mistakes. There is plenty of self-reflection, but it rarely translates into a way out. The band lets the jokes land, then leaves the uncomfortable parts in place. The result is a record that can sound almost celebratory even when its narrator is running out of excuses.

The track “hope ur down” puts that contrast front and center, turning a bleakly funny admission of personal shortcomings into a full-throated sing-along. Elsewhere, “goth boy scout” leans into the band’s melodic instincts, while the closing title track circles the familiar gap between knowing something needs to change and actually changing it.

The album follows The Second Longest Driveway in Indiana (2018) and Spill (2023). Recorded at Costume Party Records in Nashville, wash. rinse. repeat. was mixed by James Paul Wisner, whose credits include Paramore, Underoath, Dashboard Confessional, and Further Seems Forever.

wash. rinse. repeat. will be available digitally October 23, with limited-edition vinyl and CD editions through Mind Over Matter Records.
