Super 8 Bit Brothers
When it comes to melding the worlds of video games and music, no one does it better than Chicago’s Super 8-bit Brothers. Sporting impeccable musical pedigrees, Rob Kleiner (Tub Ring/ex-Mindless Self Indulgence) and Kevin Gibson (Tub Ring), present their suburb-inspired, Atari-worshipping debut full-length Brawl via The END Records. Combining danceable indie pop with lyrics ripe with for people who'd rather stay in or do a basement boogie, Brawl is the post-Postal Service, pre-Tron (Legacy) soundtrack of the indie generation. The duo are true studio wiz kids as well; Kleiner owns Chicago’s Edison studios, scored many work for film and tv including: the Eternal (2010), Stuck! (2010), Open Invitation (2009), Ending the Eternal (2008), Watch Out (2008), and Working Class Rock Star (2008). His original music is also featured in video games like AMP Snowboarder (Y2K), and television shows like Fox Sports. Kevin Gibson can also be heard lending his voice to many jingles on television. Performing live since 2004, the duo have shared the stage with artists like Mindless Self Indulgence, Electric Six, and Foxy Shazam, at video game conventions and rock clubs around the country. With Brawl, the Super 8-Bit Brothers are ready to step out of the clubs, labs and basements of the world and fill the sonic space on your hard drive.
