Ziggy Alberts - Twin Flames

Commonfolk

After completing a milestone year of music and touring that has included over 100,000 show attendees in 2025 alone, a sold out Royal Albert Hall show; as well as adding to a catalogue of music that boasts over 1 billion streams and countless Platinum and Gold-certified records, Ziggy Alberts presents his most ambitious album yet in Twin Flames.

Rich flourishes of Americana and textured rhythms layered in with Ziggy’s signature brand of indie-folk, feels like a definitive step forward into new territory; the production continues to elevate, the melodic swells and soaring nature of the music matching Ziggy’s own steps in pushing himself further than he has before as a musician.

As one of Australia’s most gifted storytellers, Ziggy’s ability to use wordplay and music to strike emotional chords with an ever-growing global audience, has created an artistic catalogue that speaks to his boldness to step outside his own comfort zones.

On human connection as a main theme, Twin Flames’ connection with the fans has been quick and intense from the onset. It also speaks to Ziggy’s ongoing dedication to crafting an ongoing relationship between the art and its audience. Over 1,000 fans determined the selection of ‘I Need My Woman’ as a single, chosen via a global activation where vintage rotary phones were placed in 35+ independent cafes and followed by a worldwide hotline, giving fans the chance to preview Ziggy’s unreleased music, select their favourite and leave messages of feedback and support.

Pushing himself vocally and sonically on songs like ‘Valerie’ and ‘Graceland’, Ziggy has been able to blend fresh threads of influences together. Songs like ‘I Blame Myself’, ‘Boomerangs’ and ‘Come And Go’ thrive on this spirit of introspection; while ‘Big Black Dog’ and ‘I Need My Woman’ are examples of Ziggy’s masterful blend of sonic vibrancy meeting heart-led and sensitive lyrical tone.

An overarching theme of duality sits at the core of the album – the idea of “twin flames” in itself, an intriguing concept in that there is a partnering force or element to everything. For each light texture, there is dark. For each connection, there is duality.

And for every question, there is always an answer to be found: the form in which it lands may not always be determined, but it’s the knowledge that one exists that makes the journey that much more stimulating.

Twin Flames threads a myriad of perspectives throughout an impeccable soundtrack that has seen Ziggy lean into new soundscapes, a testament to the songwriter’s constant desire for new horizons, and finding his place within them.
