Sweetbreads - Punisher of Love

Based in New York City, Sweetbreads is the project of singer and songwriter Melody Stolpp. Her emotionally rich songs blend indie folk, alt-country, and sharp storytelling into a sound that is distinctly her own. Exploring family dynamics, relationships, anxiety, optimism, and the complicated beauty of life, she writes with empathy, curiosity, and unflinching sincerity.

Raised in Santa Ana, California by a wedding singer father and a mother who loved the narrative power of country music and classic musicals, she developed an early obsession with lyrics and storytelling that continues to shape her songwriting today.

Although she’s been writing and playing music for most of her life, Sweetbreads only began releasing music in 2020. Since then, she has become known for heartfelt live performances and a collaborative spirit that has drawn a wide circle of musicians into her orbit. Rooted in a community-driven approach to music-making, she frequently works alongside friends and collaborators like Quinn Devlin, Nick Watt, Molly Ganley, Kaitlin Pelkey, and Hayley Rose Harrington. She has performed at iconic New York City venues like Union Pool and Arlene’s Grocery and will head out on tour later this year alongside folk singer-songwriter Jackqueline Hackett.

Now, Sweetbreads prepares to release her debut album, Punisher of Love. Produced by Quinn Devlin, the album deepens her exploration of love, identity, and the stories we tell ourselves to make sense of both.
