Joe Douglas and Stephanie Melvin are the noise-pop duo CUSSING. With the indie sleaze attitude of The Kills and the penchance for hooks and heaviness that define Sleigh Bells, the duo puts on a show with more energy than most bands 3x their size. In 2022 they drove a camper van and all their remaining possessions from their home just 90 miles north of the fabled Seattle music scene to settle in the equally storied Asbury Park, NJ. For four years they immersed themselves, playing over 150 shows in 11 states, recording an album, and meeting innumerable bands and artists. Those years of work and inspiration resulted in a new EP, lofi but intricately composed and full of songs meant not just to be heard, but SEEN. A band worthy of an audience in a basement, dive bar, or any spot where they can sweat and swagger like Peaches, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, or Amy and the Sniffers.
