Cheekface - Podium

Self-Released

“If not for Cheekface, I’m not sure I would have been able to enjoy anything at all this year.” – Rolling Stone

“Cheekface is probably best described with words like ‘scrappy,’ ‘unconventional,’ and ‘surprising.'” – Los Angeles Times

“With their DIY spirit, nerdy exuberance and self-effacing humor, Cheekface have become heroes.”  – InsideHook

Cheekface has taken the Podium, and they’re not giving it back. Out today, the sixth album from the quirky Los Angeles indie rock trio is a Trump 2 era record that directly and indirectly addresses the sick and absurd state of America in 2026 – along with the hazards of being a well-meaning weirdo in the midst of it all.

The band’s first effort with producer Eric Palmquist (Half-Alive, Bad Suns, Thrice) sounds taller, more muscular and hip-shaking than anything Cheekface has done before. And despite the political backdrop, it’s far from a downer album, as the band throws a kitchen sink party mix of new wave, 80s hip-hop, pub rock, and power pop at the whole situation, with horns, turntables, synthesizers, and of course vocalist Greg Katz‘s signature unmistakable talk-singing, riddled with punchlines throughout.

To celebrate, the band shares a laugh-out-loud video for standout track, “There Is A God”––a weird little song about a weird first date that only Cheekface could pull off. It’s an indie rock/80s hip hop hybrid with a talk-sing flow and turntables from Mac Miller producer Teddy Roxpin. Reminiscent of Cake, De La Soul, Beck, even Tone Loc and Young MC, it’s a throwback to the days when alternative and hip-hop mingled closer than they do now.

Not to totally brag but to kind of brag, Cheekface get major non-com radio support on the regular (last album peaked at #2 at NACC and #1 on Specialty), and their last 3 albums have been favorites of The Needle Drop’s Anthony Fantano, with two making his year-end best of lists. They’ve continuously sold out venues across the US, Canada, and the UK, and multiple songs have racked up millions of views thanks to viral TikTok trends using one of their older tracks, “I Feel So Weird.”  The band also caused a headline-grabbing splash during the album rollout by rejecting AT&T’s offer to appear in an ad, due to AT&T’s $100 million contract with ICE.

A veritable DIY institution at this point with principles to match, Cheekface layers strength on top of strength with Podium.

Kicking off in just a few weeks, Cheekface is back on the road headlining this fall with support from Waitress, Apes of the State, Emperor X, Catbite, Shauna Dean Cokeland, Nana Grizol and Playboy Manbaby.  See full dates HERE and contact us with any requests!
