Common Saints - Age Of Illusions [EP]
Acclaimed London-based producer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Common Saints has released his highly anticipated new EP, “Age Of Illusions”, via Starsonics. Expanding on his signature cinematic canvas, the project marks a profound creative milestone for the artist, arriving alongside the announcement of a headline performance at London’s iconic KOKO on November 12.
Following the structural foundation laid by the project’s breakout singles “Night Light” and the title track “Illusions”, the full EP stands as a striking philosophical assessment of the modern human condition. “Age Of Illusions” serves as an artistic reflection of cultural anxieties surrounding hyper-technological advancement, guiding the listener through a deliberate sonic architecture of self-discovery, spiritual rebirth, and final enlightenment.
“Age of illusions EP marks a point in time where we no longer fully know what is real or not,” Perry explains. “With the advent of artificial intelligence, and its continued promotion to the human race, promising that it will make life easier – in turn it is making life harder, as the things that we loved and used for expression, are being exploited by the parasitic insidious Machine.
There is hope though, as people are now waking up to the realities of this false idol. The ironic beauty of this point in time is that people will search for the truth and find themselves in places where they are safer than they ever were before, surrounded by those who admire and stand for human art and values, and will not leave fate and the future in the hands of a programmed machine funded by people with little to no moral guidance. This EP serves as an artistic reflection of this feeling and takes the listener through a journey of self-discovery, rebirth and enlightenment.”
A central pillar of the EP is the compelling focus track “Stargaze,” which delivers an explicit, elegant anti-war message.
“Stargaze is a song that delivers an anti-war message, suggesting that it is time we stopped spilling the same old blood as we have done for years and years,” says Perry. “It encourages the listener to look into the universe for answers, as sometimes we feel powerless for change in a world that does not listen to the voices of those who cry out.” – Common Saints.
Musically, the EP solidifies the immersive, spiritual space Common Saints occupies in the contemporary landscape, a distinct sound that fans will get to experience live. The intricate studio arrangements of “Age Of Illusions” are set to be translated into a powerful live environment for a monumental show at London’s KOKO on November 12.
