Kiwi post-punk 5 piece CCTV have released their debut album Empire on July 3rd. Following last year’s EP, Austerity Blues, and a number of NZ student radio hits, Empire sees the band evolving their sound with greater thematic focus and musical ambition.
Recorded at Roundhead Studios with engineer De Stevens, the eight track album weaves through imperialism, automation, and violence with biting lyrics underscored by screaming guitar lines and a pumping rhythm section. Two singles, Cowboy Song and End of History, precede the full album release and give listeners a taste of what’s to come on the full record.
