Oakwood - Blurred Away
“Bright, interlacing guitar lines that shimmer just long enough before collapsing under the weight of Mat Dwyer’s raw-throated delivery.” — The Needle Drop
For a band that spent nearly a decade in obscurity, Oakwood suddenly found themselves staring at a fully sold out headlining tour last summer. Originally formed in 2013, the West Texas trio of Mathew Dwyer (he/him; vocals/bass/guitar), Noah Roots (he/him; drums), and TJ James (he/him; guitar/bass) saw their decade-old releases unexpectedly catch fire online in 2024, a purely organic spark after being re-uploaded to streaming services.
Next Friday, the trio will release their long-awaited second full-length album, Blurred Away. Recorded by Phil Odom (Glare, Militarie Gun) and mastered by Grammy Award winner Will Yip (Turnstile, Title Fight), Blurred Away turns grief and emotional dread into something deeply cathartic, drawing heavily from the melodic energy of Algernon Cadwallader, Jimmy Eat World, Title Fight, and Jets to Brazil.
To support its release, Oakwood will hit the road for a North American headline run kicking off July 31 in Denver, CO. See dates HERE and contact us with any requests!
