Butterfly Vendetta - Adjectives & Expletives
Virginia-based Butterfly Vendetta is a powerhouse blend of rock, pop, and punk. Melding sonic influence from the likes of Foo Fighters, Paramore, and Fall Out Boy, this dynamic group has an infectious sound that breaks from convention with enormous fun and intensity. Founding members Bianca Vee and David Dillehunt have been creating music together since late 2007. Filling out the sound is Remy Renegade on bass and John Allietta on drums. Both bring a wealth of musical creativity and artistic flare. The band has graced the stages of numerous venues across Virginia, and their imaginative music videos have a growing fan base of thousands around the world. With seven self-released albums, a feature-length documentary, concert film, and over a hundred original songs, Butterfly Vendetta is a true force to be reckoned with!
“Adjectives & Expletives” is the seventh full-length release from Butterfly Vendetta, produced by co-founding band member, David Dillehunt. The album is a raw but poignant exploration of love and loss for these indie rock “veterans,” as the founding members rapidly approach two decades of musical collaboration. The introspective lyrics of Bianca Vee are fully embodied in this collection of tracks, touching on numerous life lessons at a very personal level, including the final track penned by Dillehunt himself. Through their unique 80s and 90s-infused pop/punk sound, the band plows through these emotions in short order, while taking just the right amount of time with each subject. For the first time, the band chose to record all of their instrumentation in real-time using a digital multitrack device and recording only two or three takes for each song. Vocals were then added separately. The end product is a powerful testament to this dedicated band of friends that has stood the test of time, while continuing to fly under the radar.
