Blood Harmony Records and acclaimed Philadelphia-bred singer-songwriter Dave Hause are excited to present “Look Alive,” the latest single to be lifted from the Friday, September 26 release of …And The Mermaid, Hause’s seventh solo album (pre-order HERE). A soaring contemplation on the end of the world carried out with reckless abandon, “Look Alive” serves as one of the most life-affirming songs Hause has ever written across a catalog brimming with anthems.

“‘Look Alive’ is that feeling when the suicidal cocktail of modern life is overtaking your nervous system, and you’re about to yield to your nihilistic impulses and burn it all down,” Hause says. “That feeling of ‘if we are indeed doomed, I want to go out on my own terms. I want to do it my own way’. The good news for now is that, for most of us, it’s not quite the end of the world. Yet.” Stream “Look Alive” on YouTube HERE and on all platforms HERE.

Additionally, Hause will be making appearances spanning 2025 in support of …And The Mermaid in the U.S., UK and EU. Supporting The Gaslight Anthem and The Bouncing Souls in select U.S. markets, Hause will also be making numerous headline and festival appearances across the UK and EU through the summer and fall. Recorded at Rain City Recorders in Vancouver, BC by Jesse Gander (Japandroids, White Lung), the 10 songs presented on …And The Mermaid offer a welcome shock to the system — a towering rock record that blends Hause’s signature lyrical elan and gift for surging melodies with his keening vocals and some deliciously sharp musical elbows. After venturing into — and being fully embraced by — the Americana and singer-songwriter space for a few years, Hause says his current muse is leading him back to a version of where he began. “Those albums gave me enough confidence to come back to the rock and punk thing and be like, ‘Yeah, I got nothing to prove. I’m just going to be me.’”

“As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be in a rock and roll band.”
