Bones Shredder - Morbid Little Thing
For most of his musical career, Randy Moore has played a support role. The San Jose based guitarist dropped some shredding leads in Asian Man Records group Get Married before joining the solo projects of Dan Andriano (Alkaline Trio), and later Matt Skiba (Alkaline Trio, Blink-182). But that all changed the moment he bumped fists with Rivers Cuomo.
As a young musician, Moore had idolized Weezer. Now, he finally understood they were just people, too. “It took away the legend status in the best way possible,” Moore says. “Cause it’s like, ‘oh, he’s just a guy who writes songs in his bedroom.’ They happen to be amazing, but he’s just a guy who writes songs and I am a guy who writes songs.”
For years, Moore had been sketching out song ideas and saving them on his phone as voice memos. After the unexpected meeting with Cuomo, he revisited the recordings with newfound inspiration. At that point, he ceased to be simply Randy Moore, and Bones Shredder was born.
Morbid Little Thing is the first release from Moore’s own Sunken Teeth Records. Intended as a home for his own work, Sunken Teeth promises plenty more morbid little things to come.
