Hush Now
Boston’s indie stalwarts The Hush Now are re-releasing a complete remix of their 2009 sophomore effort, Constellations. With Mad Oak Studios’ Benny Grotto (Dresden Dolls, Ben Folds) manning the dials, the new version features a new single, The Atheist.
After last Fall’s EP Shiver Me Starships climbed Indie charts, a successful national tour and a powerful performance at CMJ 2010, The Hush Now returned to the studio to begin work on their next full-length, Memos (Sep 2011) which just wrapped with Grotto and Jeff Lipton (Arcade Fire, Spoon) again at the controls.
Constellations 2.0 is a powder-keg effort boasting soaring vocals over The Hush Now’s unique melancholy AM Gold groove that pulses behind curtains of melodic guitar. The album also boasts a new dance remix of the U2/Cure-like thumper Thorns (Track 11).
“...pure-pop heaven.” - Magnet
“...lush sugar-spun melodies of shoegaze’s dreamy heyday.” - The Boston Phoenix
“These guys are making some of the best new music.” - Ryan’s Smashing Life
