Fake Pockets - Magnolia Street

Mint 400

Fake Pockets is an indie rock band from Asbury Park NJ, composed of vocalist, songwriter, and rhythm guitarist Devon Alana; lead guitarist Ahren Henby; bassist Bill Lambusta; and drummer Jake Resnick.

Blending elements of power pop and 90s alternative, the group creates songs that are uniquely nostalgic, with upbeat melodies juxtaposed by Alana’s earnest, lovesick songwriting. Early reviews of their EP, Magnolia Street, call it “a promising debut” (You Don’t Know Jersey), and offer praise for “Alana’s signature vocals and jangly folk guitar work.” (CoolDad Music). As Magnolia Street standouts like the punchy “Maybe” or the synth soaked “Stay” snake their way across airwaves this summer, you might end up stopping dead in your tracks as you hear this new, but familiar sound.

Since their inception in 2018, the group has hit the ground running, playing many notable local Jersey venues such as Starland Ballroom and The Stone Pony, and opening for acts like Ben Folds and The Violent Femmes in the process.
