"Don’t sleep on the latest release from one of the Garden State’s best under-appreciated bands." - Impose

LKFFCT are kicking off 2018 with a new four-song EP entitled Cayenne. Cayenne is in many ways the psychotic breakdown following last year’s mature and reflective masterwork, Dawn Chorus. The EP was recorded live and finds the band rowdier and angrier than they’ve ever been, embracing the raw, full-throttle intensity of their previous band Washington Square Park. “Return of the Ginkers”, potentially the best named song ever, finds the middle ground between Pixies artiness and the MC5’s exasperated anger. “Carnivorous Sweater” embraces the “I Wanna Be Your Dog” swagger of the Stooges.

“Big Boppin’ Daddy” sounds like the New York Dolls if they were fronted by Lou Reed and hewed toward Pink Floyd psychedelia. Closer “Monkey Paw” has the swing of Thank God for Mental Illness-era Brian Jonestown Massacre. Cayenne is over before you know what hit you, but the adrenaline rush is sure to remain. If Cayenne were Starbucks, you might find yourself the caffeine-addicted customer returning daily for your Mocha-frocka-lacka-chino. Check out this EP and last year’s Dawn Chorus immediately if you’re not familiar with this band yet.
