"I've always felt that so much of being an artist isn't about being a creator, but rather a rodeo rider."

Based on his multiple successes with daring and disparate musical projects, one can understand where Jerry Adler’s perspective comes from. Whether as the songwriter, lead singer and guitarist for critically acclaimed NYC indie-rock powerhouse The Blam, or with his folk-influenced solo work under the pseudonym Flugente, Adler has continually challenged himself artistically while also challenging his audience to join him for the journey.

Wave Sleep Wave is Adler’s most powerful creative departure yet: an eponymous debut album created with a unique foundation, underpinning intoxicating melodies and whip-smart lyrics. Multi-layered, looped guitar textures float and pulse above the striking, distinct drum work of the band’s only other member, drummer Yuval Lion. The duo reunites in Wave Sleep Wave for the first time since their days together in The Blam.

The stories told in each of the nine new and never before heard songs on Wave Sleep Wave––be they universal in nature or deeply personal––are paralleled by the gripping performances of the songs themselves. Mixed and mastered by renowned producer Blake Morgan, the album operates on two levels like links in a chain, each song––each part and lyric, in fact––functioning both individually and as part of a greater whole.

"It's the best sounding, most melodic record I've ever made and I'm so glad I held on during this particular ride."

[Jerry Adlerʼs] melodies sneak inside your skull, but when they do they unleash a promisingly slanted noise. - NME

Not only unique in sound and composition... Wave Sleep Wave is fresh... yet another bold new direction for Adler. -- Pure Grain Audio

Wave Sleep Wave is anything but old. Their sound is a revelrous cavalcade... I'm deeply impressed. -- New Music Michael

I personally found myself entranced by his delivery style... this kept me returning to the album on a regular basis... this album is worth investigating. -- Cosmos Gaming

Video Premiere by Leading Us Absurd: Wave Sleep Wave is the brainchild of New Yorker Jerry Adler, former member of the indie group The Blam. Adler’s vocals on “Hey…What?” are reminiscent of Frank Black on the early Pixies albums. There’s a cold bluesy stomp to the music giving it an eerie feel.

The song (Hey… What?), loopy, layered and droney, features a bleak and sparse atmosphere which allows every sound to serve its own purpose, with Adler's thoughtful lyrics sung with a punk attitude reminiscent of the early post-punk days. - Jen Mergott, The Deli
