"The Maravines will brighten even the darkest day." - The Fire Note
The Maravines are a mellow folky indie duo from Northern New Jersey. After years with various incarnations of the group they finally have hit their stride with their new album which pulls influence from bands like Neutral Milk Hotel, Nada Surf, Rogue Wave, Red House Painters and more. The duo recently signed with New Jersey based label Mint 400 Records and are on their way to becoming indie rock royalty with their catchy brand of acoustic indie pop. You will surely be amazed that these guys have been around and you have not heard about them. Their new album "Distelfink" represents their second full length of 2014 and shows a band that has grown and matured. The duo shows that they are a band worthy of taking note of with this amazing collection of songs that is more cohesive and complex than their first album.
"The pretty tenor vocals project an achingly tender and fragile sense of sensitivity and vulnerability. The melodies are very mellow and relaxing, with the gradual tempos and subdued beats casting a laid-back vibe that’s quite appealing in its easygoing quality. The thoughtful songwriting clinches the whole endearing deal, thus consolidating this honey’s status as one to relish.” - Joe Wawrzyniak | Jersey Beat
