Set for release on September 20, The Extensions’ debut EP Bellicose is the first taste of the Asbury Park, NJ indie rock group, combining power-pop hooks, indie rock guitars, and post-punk keyboards to create six original tracks bursting at the seams with newfound power. Consisting of singer-songwriter and guitarist Brian Erickson, keyboardist and guitarist Lisa LoVell, bassist Keith Newcomb, and drummer Pete Stern, The Extensions channel inspiration from acts such as Spoon, Elvis Costello & The Attractions, and Matthew Sweet.
The Extensions is made up of veterans from established local bands The Paper Jets, Fun While You Wait, and Dave Mooney & Viewers Like You. As such, debut single “Hollowed Out” is a reflection on the state of the Asbury Park music scene and their place in it, taking to task those who just want to feel famous without putting in the effort to actually make it happen. Now, the band has signed with Mint 400 Records and 3143 Management to bring their sound to a wider audience outside of their New Jersey homebase.
