The Duke of Norfolk is a prolific chap, having released 7 EPs and a single since February 2011. In those three years, The Duke (also known as Adam Howard) tinkered with his singer/songwriter sound until it became an expansive indie-folk-pop mix that includes banjo, synthesizers, percussion, and cello. His first release in this new style is The First Day of Spring, a three-song single that features the wistful title track, the diverse instrumental “Friday May 17th,” and the folky piano-pop of “The Ceaseless Progression of Time.”
