Spiral Beach
The Only Really Thing
Sparks Music
ADDS 9/22/09

On their second full-length, Toronto wunderkinds Spiral Beach offer an intricate, meticulously constructed audio collage, bringing together heaps of different sounds and ideas under their crafty, pop-leaning dance-punk tent. Bollywood influences sparkle over the entire Michael Olsen-produced album but are most audible on Raising The Snake and stomping electro-rocker May Go Round (In A Mania). Vocalist Maddy Wilde still channels Debbie Harry but explores mellower moments on Vagueries. A sweet disco-inflected number called Cemetery, the album’s strongest offering, comes late in the game but features Wilde’s catchiest performance to date. - NOW

“Spiral Beach’s future holds brilliance ...so get into it now” - Exclaim!
