THE CAT MAN IS ON HIS OWN AGAIN by Shane-Michael Vidaurri is the product of the award winning graphic novelist Shane-Michael Vidaurri (Iron: Or, The War After) with the added lush orchestrations of the brothers Alec Hanslowe and Mister Tom (also of Mint 400 Records). Shane-Michael was also happy to include a second set of brothers into the studio, Sean (Mike Krol) and Jon Lango (Crazy and the Brains).
Vidaurri stepped away from home recording to work in the studio for the first time. The result is stunning, with songs like "Cat Man Is On His Own Again" which could pass for a Big Star B-Side. This new record is the most raw and personal as Vidaurri has ever gotten, exploring sexuality ("Let The Boys Kiss"), and culminating in a hospital stay ("I Miss You"). The third in a trilogy which started with THE CAT MAN IS SAD in 2014 and THE CAT MAN RETURNS in 2017, this album is destined to be an indie classic. Like all of Vidaurri's previous albums it feels like it borrows a huge variety of influence from across the last 40 years, from The Band to Courtney Barnett. Vidaurri who took a break from music to write the comic book miniseries, "Steven Universe: Harmony," returns to music with a renewed passion evident in every track.
